This pilotdemonstrates the that electrodialytic treatment (EDR) can recover the critical raw material P from sewage sludge ash into a pure P product free of heavy metals. Additionally, the remaining ash can be used as secondary raw material in binder-based materials or bricks.​

Sewage sludge ash from BIOFOS, Denmark, was used for P recovery.
