This pilot demonstrates the reuse of brown coal - wood biomass fly ash in extruded fired clay bricks. Approximately 10.000 bricks were produced at the Slovenian brick factory Goriške Opekarne d.o.o. A demonstration wall has been built in Ljubljana.

The pilot promotes the implementation of the circular economy in the brickmaking sector by demonstrating the replacement of brickmaking clay with ash. Bricks containing ash achieved the manufacturer's declared properties for masonry units.
